What an amazing man and author! He has inspired so many people with writing. Disguised as books for children, the themes range from caring for the environment, to being kind to others, to the dangers of nuclear proliferation.
My favorite is still The Lorax with his message of "Unless.. someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.  It's not."

Blog Fail :)

I guess blogging may just not be my forte.  It is now February and I haven't posted since a week before school began.  I guess I just wonder if I have anything really noteworthy to share.
The school year has been going pretty well.  My second grade team of teachers are the best people to work with! My class is adorable and the parents are incredibly supportive - so what do I write about?
We've been adding a lot of technology into our lessons.  I love sharing what I learn with other teachers and finding out what they have been doing.  I really enjoy Google Docs and how I can share spreadsheets, forms and presentations.  If you haven't checked them out, you really should.

Hopefully I will become a little more regular in blogging rather than twice a year.

One week till the Kids Arrive!

It's been an amazing summer but now we are in full "ready or not here they come" mode!  These last few days are filled with training days follwed by teacher prep days.  Looking forward to getting into my classroom.  It's been crazy with some major construction projects on campus. 
I've spent a lot of time on Pinterest getting inspired by other teachers.  If you haven't checked it out, you should.
The best part of my summer was chaperoning our high school music group as they traveled and performed in Italy.  As that trip ended, I extended it by taking my sons to Paris for five days.

New Blog!

Well, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start a teacher blog this summer.  I had a lot of fun blogging about our music trip that this seemed like a good next step.  There are so many awesome teachers out there sharing their ideas and resources and I hope I can join in the fun!
We'll see how this goes :)
